AsteroidOS 2.1 is now available and is currently the recommended way to install AsteroidOS. Our nightly builds have been broken since early March due to ongoing infrastructure work around the Qt 6 migration. The install pages now point to 2.1 accordingly.
2.1 is a stable stop point collecting all bug fixes and incremental improvements that accumulated since 2.0. Rather than hold those back indefinitely, we cut this release as a verified snapshot for users who want a reliable, installable build.
The reason nightlies are currently in flux is the Qt 6 migration. This is the foundation our next big release will be built on, and progress is being made. Our 3.0 project tracker now collects all changes since 2.0 — that is where active development lives.
If you want to follow the Qt 6 work or contribute, our Matrix channels are the place to be. Thank you to everyone who filed bugs, tested builds, and submitted patches since 2.0.
